Bethany Romashov joins REEI as a GA Outreach Assistant with significant experience in the field of Russian and East European area studies from a humanities perspective and a desire to engage the region anew from a social sciences/public health perspective. Bethany graduated with a Ph.D. in Russian and Polish Literatures, with an emphasis in poetry, in 2015, and is currently pursuing a graduate degree in Counseling and Counselor Education from the IU School of Education. She is an experienced teacher, writer, translator, and editor. Among her recent professional affiliations, she is especially proud to have worked closely with the Indiana University Institute for the Study of Contemporary Antisemitism, which inspired her to adopt a more pronounced social justice orientation within her own spheres of professional activity.
