It has been a very busy and productive summer and fall at REEI, which makes for a newsletter chock full of news on REEI’s programmatic activities and outreach efforts, and news and updates on the accomplishments of REEI affiliated faculty and students, visiting scholars, and more!
Once again, the US Department of Education has designated the Russian and East European Institute as a Title VI National Resource Center (NRC) and provider of Foreign Language and Area Studies fellowships for Russian and East European Studies, the result of a successful grant proposal submitted in June, 2018.
BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -- A newly established, federally funded Russian Language Flagship will join Indiana University's Arabic, Chinese and Turkish Language Flagships in fall 2018, making IU Bloomington the only institution in the United States with four such programs and reinforcing IU's reputation as an exceptional place for language study.

The 50th Annual Convention of the Association for Slavic, East European, and Eurasian Studies (ASEEES), celebrating ASEEES’ 70th anniversary, will be held in Boston, MA on December 6-9, 2018 at the Boston Marriott Copley Place (110 Huntington Ave).
