The R. F. Byrnes Russian and East European Institute (REEI) of Indiana University (IU) offers the REEI Summer Russian Scholarship in support of first-generation undergraduate students who are currently enrolled in Russian-language study at their home institutions. Applications are accepted from both IU students as well as those at other US colleges and universities. The scholarship is awarded on a competitive basis to applicants who meet the following criteria: 1) current enrollment in an undergraduate degree program; 2) current enrollment in a course of Russian language study at an institute of higher education; 3) enrollment in an 8-week course of study in Russian at the IU Language Workshop in 2022; 4) child of parents/guardians who have not received an education degree beyond a high school diploma or GED. The scholarship covers the cost of tuition and mandatory fees (currently valued at $3,533). Deadline for applications: To be announced.
